RN Stepdown And Progressive Care UnitStep into a vital role supporting patients in a progressive care environment where your expertise as an RN in Stepdown and the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) will be highly valued. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic setting focused on providing the highest standard of intermediate care to individuals requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions.
Schedule/Hours: Contract assignment (duration discussed during interview process)
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  • Current, active RN license
  • Previous experience in Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and providing care for patients with complex medical needsBLS and ACLS certifications (required)
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to excel in high-acuity, fast-paced units
  • Collaborative mindset for effective interdisciplinary teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to lower acuity settings
  • Carefully monitor patients' vital signs, respond rapidly to changes, and document interventions thoroughly
  • Coordinate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop tailored care plans
  • Safely administer medications, manage drips and advanced monitoring devices
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families navigating the progressive care experience
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with all facility procedures and protocols
