Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Propulsion Unit and Propulsion Unit Parts ManufacturingGuided Missile and Space Vehicle ManufacturingOther Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Parts and Auxiliary Equipment ManufacturingLeading a team of approximately 10 engineers, the full-time Mechanical Engineer V (Team Manager) will provide senior-level mechanical design engineering leadership for controllable solid propulsion systems, with responsibilities including complex design challenges and team development, in a hybrid or remote work environment.
Key responsibilities:
Lead complex mechanical design challenges for solid rocket motor systems and related components, performing trade-off analyses and driving multidisciplinary design optimization
Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings, applying complex Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis
Mentor and develop engineering team members through coaching, feedback, and training while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a relevant discipline with at least 10 years of mechanical design experience
Strong experience with CAD modeling and technical drawing creation in Solid Works, including complex GD&T and tolerance analysis
Demonstrated hands-on experience in the design, development, testing, or manufacturing of controllable solid propulsion systems
Advanced technical and organizational leadership skills with the ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities
Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level
