Drive Kindness Home: Deliver Meals & Hope in Central Indiana

Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that delivers medically tailored meals from hospital and healthcare facility partners to Indianapolis neighbors Monday through Friday, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM across 32 daily routes. Our volunteers provide far more than nutrition—they offer a vital lifeline. Every delivery includes: Two Medically Tailored Meals: A nutritious lunch and dinner delivered right to the door. A Friendly Smile & Connection: Warm social interaction for clients who are often isolated with little outside contact. Essential Wellness Checks: Volunteers are trained to monitor and report changes in a client's behavior or living conditions to MOWCI staff, bringing peace of mind to loved ones and emergency contacts. In many cases, these check-ins are truly lifesaving! Volunteer Requirements & Commitment: Flexible Schedule: Minimum commitment of just one weekday per month. Onboarding Process: New volunteers must complete a New Volunteer Orientation and pass a MOWCI-provided background check before delivering meals independently.
