This opportunity offers a diverse surgical case mix, a medically directed anesthesia practice, and flexibility in scheduling, with all hours considered. Ideal candidates will be clinically confident across adult and pediatric populations and comfortable delivering anesthesia in a complex, high-acuity hospital environment.

Clinical Environment: High-Acuity, Multispecialty Surgical Services Clinical Scope & Case MixCRNAs will provide anesthesia services across a broad range of surgical and procedural specialties, including: General Surgery: Anesthesia for general surgical and abdominal procedures. Gynecology: Perioperative anesthesia for gynecologic procedures. Urology: Anesthesia management for urologic surgical cases. Orthopedics: Anesthesia for orthopedic procedures. Spine Surgery: Anesthesia for spinal and related surgical procedures. Vascular Surgery: Anesthesia for vascular procedures. Thoracic/Lung Procedures: Anesthesia services involving pulmonary and thoracic surgical cases. Out-of-Operating-Room (OOR) Procedures: Anesthesia support for procedures performed outside traditional operating rooms.
Clinical Responsibilities: Provide safe, effective anesthesia care for adult and pediatric patients. Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and participate in individualized anesthesia planning. Administer and monitor anesthesia throughout surgical and procedural care. Manage airway, ventilation, hemodynamic stability, and intraoperative patient monitoring. Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including urgent and emergent situations. Collaborate with supervising anesthesiologists and interdisciplinary surgical teams under a medical direction model. Support anesthesia services across multiple surgical specialties and out-of-operating-room settings. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure appropriate transitions of care. Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center environment.
Required Qualifications:
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).Current NBCRNA certification.
  • Active North Carolina licensure or ability to obtain the required licensure before beginning the assignment.
  • Experience providing anesthesia in hospital-based surgical settings.
  • Comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients.
  • Clinical competency across a broad, multispecialty anesthesia case mix.
  • Ability to practice effectively within a medically directed anesthesia care team.
  • Strong airway management, patient monitoring, and emergency response capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt to complex patient presentations and high-acuity clinical environments.
