UT Health Jacksonville features 33 operational beds, an ICU, a 24-hour ED designated as a Level IV trauma center and acute stroke ready facility, a maternity unit, advanced diagnostic technology, surgical suites, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, a wound healing center, and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness and rehabilitation facility.
Responsibilities:
Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury. Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient's needs. Delivers care consistent with physician's orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High schooldiploma or equivalent
- Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current Texas RN licenseBLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientationNIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certificationrequiredbefore end of orientation
Preferred Job Requirements:
One year of emergency nursing experience Two years of acute care nursing experienceCENTrauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
