Role Description:
The Human Resources Manager is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing key HR activities that support employees and leaders across the organization. Day-to-day tasks include managing employee relations matters, providing guidance on HR policies, and supporting performance management and development processes. The role will coordinate recruitment activities such as posting roles, screening applicants, and collaborating with hiring managers to ensure fair and consistent hiring practices. The Human Resources Manager will oversee onboarding processes, maintain accurate HR records, and support compliance with employment laws and internal policies. The role will also contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, support benefits and leave administration, and partner with leadership to promote a positive, engaging work environment.
Qualifications:
Experience in core HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, and policy implementation. Skills in recruitment and talent acquisition, such as job posting, candidate screening, and interview coordination. Ability to manage HR administration, including HRIS data entry, recordkeeping, and documentation for compliance and audits. Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and experience applying them in day-to-day HR decisions. Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams. Experience supporting or leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within an organizational setting. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. HR certification (such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is beneficial but not required. Prior experience in publishing, media, or creative industries is a plus.
