We're hiring exclusively on behalf of a client for an SEO Account Director. This is a confidential search, so the client is not named here. We'll tell you exactly who they are on our first call. Account Director (Senior IC)
Remote: US or Toronto | $110K–$130K USD base (US) / CAD $130K–$150K base (Toronto)
About the client:
The client is a fast-growing B2B marketing agency, built for how buyers search now. It helps B2B tech brands get found wherever buyers look, across search, AI answers and the channels that shape buying decisions. Its clients are enterprise brands with big budgets, many stakeholders and several channels, and it has seven new contracts starting in the next few months. Why this role exists The agency's clients are getting bigger: larger budgets, more stakeholders, more channels. They need one senior person who understands their business, owns the relationship and grows the account. That's you. What you'll own
- Their business – talk revenue, pipeline and competitors with client executives.
- The P&L – set the hours budget, protect margin and price scope changes.
- The relationship – lead QBRs and earn trust with budget holders and executives.
- Renewal and growth – start renewals 90+ days out and close expansion on your book.
- Account health – spot risk before the client does, and bring the fix with the news. You don't run the tools, but you know the work well enough to sell it. What you won't do
- Run delivery – your Delivery Lead owns the plan, staffing and deadlines.
- Do the hands-on work – channel specialists and creatives produce it.
- Manage people – this is a senior IC role with no direct reports. You set the bar by example.
- Chase new logos – sales brings in new clients. You keep and grow them.
You and your Delivery LeadYou own the budget holder and executive relationships, revenue, pricing and margin, sell scope changes, and own account health and recovery plans. Your Delivery Lead manages the day-to-day team, delivers within the hours budget, spots and sizes scope changes, and runs delivery recovery. You share one account health score – neither of you wins if an account slips.
What success looks like:
- 2–3 enterprise clients in your book
- $2M+ in annualised revenue you own
- 90%+ gross retention, with no surprise churn
- 9+ client NPS on every account
- Every renewal in conversation 90 days out, and an executive relationship beyond the budget holder on every account Your first 90 days
- Days 1–30: Meet every budget holder. Learn the contracts, margin and health of each account.
- Days 31–60: Agree hours budgets and rhythm with your Delivery Lead. Plan every renewal due within 120 days.
- Days 61–90: Secure the extension on at least one account coming up for renewal. By month six, clients call you first and escalations stop going to leadership. Who this is for
- Agency-proven: 8+ years in client-facing agency roles, with a multi-million-dollar book.
- Commercial: pricing, scoping and negotiating expansion come naturally.
- Exec-ready: at ease with VPs and the C-suite, and willing to push back.
- B2B fluent: you know which channels drive results – strategic, not technical.
- An owner: you know the numbers, and an unsigned renewal is your problem.
- Bonus: experience in banking or fintech, higher education or B2B SaaS.This is hyper-growth, with bigger clients every quarter. If you want next year to look like this one, it isn't the place. If you want the challenge – and the best work of your career – it is. The offer
- $110K–$130K USD base if you're US-based
- CAD $130K–$150K base in Toronto
- EST hours
- Senior IC role, no direct reports
- Your own enterprise book
