Job Title: Display Optical Engineer
Location: Redmond, WA (Onsite/Hybrid)
Duration: 12 Months (Potential Extension)We are seeking a talented Display Optical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing next-generation display and imaging technologies. This role focuses on simulation, modeling, and performance optimization of advanced display systems. You will work closely with engineers and scientists to analyze system performance, improve software tools, and help shape the development of innovative products and prototypes. This position is ideal for candidates with strong MATLAB expertise, software development experience, and a background in display systems, imaging, or computational modeling.
Responsibilities: Develop, enhance, and maintain MATLAB-based simulation and analysis tools. Refactor and optimize existing code to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability. Model and simulate end-to-end display system performance. Analyze simulation results and provide recommendations to support system specifications and design decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and research teams to evaluate concepts and improve overall system performance. Develop Python-based utilities and workflows to support analysis and automation. Apply software engineering best practices, including version control and code quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Color Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.5+ years of professional software engineering or simulation development experience. Expert-level proficiency in MATLAB.Strong software design, development, and debugging skills. Experience with source control systems such as Git. Experience programming in Python. Knowledge of image processing and signal processing techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with mathematical modeling and simulation. Knowledge of display technologies, including OLED, LCD, MicroLED, LCOS, DMD, or similar systems. Familiarity with display pipeline architecture. Experience with color science and imaging systems. Understanding of image quality assessment, display calibration, or metrology. Knowledge of human visual perception and display performance metrics. Experience supporting research and development programs.
