Student Sweeper

Student Sweeper, Custodian Lewis-Palmer School District, located in Monument, CO, is looking for a student sweeper at Palmer Ridge High School. Sweepers work 3 hours per afternoon/evening, only on school days. Must be at least 16 years old and must be a student either in high school or college-level. Work with custodial staff to ensure a clean, safe environment for learning. This position will begin in August 2026 and will end on May 14, 2027. The hourly wage for this position is $18.30. Under general supervision performs a variety of custodial duties in support of classroom and administrative operations. Student Sweepers are needed to work 3 hrs/evening only on school days. Must be at least 16 years old and must be a student either in high school or college-level. Must be able to perform the tasks required to maintain the cleanliness, good order, sanitary and secure condition of schools and/or administrative spaces while working with custodial staff. Must be capable of working reliably and independently to carry out assigned tasks and work schedules. Essential duties and responsibilities require the ability to: Provide custodial support in the absence of any building custodial staff, at a specific location, with little or no notice, with the work performed to be equal to, or better than the absent custodian. Sweep, mop, wax and dust. Wash (clean windows, walls, floors, chalkboards, whiteboards, and furnishings).Pick up paper and other debris, empty and clean trash receptacles. Water plants, clean planter boxes, perform minor trimming and weeding. Operate vacuums, floor machines Understand and carry out both written and oral instructions. Perform heavy physical labor and work in confined spaces. Maintain the schools' work schedules in the performance of cleaning tasks. Read or recognize cleaning chemical labels. Properly select, mix and apply cleaning agents appropriate to the task. Other duties as assigned or requested by the Building Manager.
