The Role: You'll help run the day-to-day engine of the business: the people, processes and systems that move transactions to completion. You'll lead a team of 10–20 across our Chicago and offshore operations, oversee daily execution, maintain operational processes, own the daily metrics, and keep making the operation faster and more reliable as our technology evolves. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll spend as much time solving live problems as you will building the systems and processes that prevent those problems from recurring.
What you'll do:
  • Run daily operations
  • Own the end-to-end order workflow - inventory management, order fulfillment, and issue resolution - so orders are accurate and on time.
  • Triage live problems (failed deliveries, inventory errors, marketplace disputes) and make the call when something needs to be resolved now.
  • Run quality control on the team's work and hold everyone to the standards we've set.
  • Lead and develop the team
  • Lead staff across Chicago and offshore operations through regular 1:1s, coaching and clear expectations.
  • Track team and individual KPIs; address performance gaps early and directly.
  • Own scheduling, attendance, time off and coverage.
  • Hire, onboard and train new team members.
  • Improve how we work
  • Find recurring issues and bottlenecks, fix the root cause, and document the fix.
  • Write and maintain SOPs so any team member can run a process the same way.
  • Drive the adoption of new systems, tools and automation to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
  • Keep everyone aligned
  • Run the team's operating rhythm: daily huddles, weekly team meetings and set clear priorities.
  • Report on performance and flag risks before they become problems.
  • Work with the other internal teams and marketplace partners to keep work moving.
  • Who We Are Looking For:4+ years in operations, e-commerce, business process outsourcing (BPO), or another high-volume environment 3+ years of people management experience
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, and comfort learning new systems quickly
  • Experience working with remote and offshore teams.
  • Schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as operational needs require.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, and calm, decisive judgment under pressure.
  • Comfortable identifying issues, making decisions, and resolving operational problems in real time.
  • Experience managing performance through KPIs; familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI.Bachelor’s Degree.

Performance Bonus: Tied to team and individual results.
