Location:
Indianapolis, INRequired Qualifications 5+ years of prior recordkeeping and bookkeeping experience.5+ years of accounts payable and voucher processing experience.5+ years of experience assisting with budget preparation and budget control.5+ years of experience preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.5+ years of procurement and contract knowledge. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be eligible to be bonded. Working knowledge of bookkeeping, auditing, contracts, and contracting procedures. Ability to accurately handle money and other items of value. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality, diplomacy, tact, and courtesy. Strong mathematical, business, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Highly Desired: Experience with PeopleSoft Financials. Experience with auditing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain official financial records and ensure their accuracy.
Assist with preparation and control of budgets.
Receive, deposit, distribute, and account for monies, securities, and other valuables.
Authorize payments or prepare vouchers for approval.
Prepare and process payments, checks, transactions, encumbrances, and expenditures.
Audit financial transactions and maintain appropriate records and forms.
Review requisitions for quality, quantity, and pricing.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Perform financial calculations and prepare profit-and-loss statements as required.
Negotiate settlement of accounts.
Assist with purchasing, procurement, inventory control, contracts, leases, auctions, and bids.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with established procedures.
Operate standard office equipment and coordinate equipment orders and repairs.
Provide support for related financial and administrative duties as required.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to interpret and follow established procedures and policies.
Ability to make independent decisions and solve problems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, contractors, administrators, and the general public.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage financial information accurately.
Ability to handle sensitive financial transactions and significant amounts of money responsibly.
