Global manufacturing organization seeking an experienced international trade attorney to support and advise on trade compliance matters across a complex global business. This individual will partner closely with legal, compliance, operations, supply chain, and business leadership to navigate export controls, sanctions, customs, and other international trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic legal counsel on export controls, sanctions, customs, and cross-border trade compliance. Advise business stakeholders on regulatory risks associated with international transactions and global operations. Support the development, implementation, and enhancement of global trade compliance programs, policies, and procedures. Conduct risk assessments, internal investigations, and compliance reviews related to trade matters. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to applicable U.S. and international trade regulations. Assist with training, audits, regulatory inquiries, and engagement with government agencies as needed. Monitor changes in trade laws and regulations and provide practical guidance to business leadership.
Ideal Background: J.D. and active bar membership. Significant experience advising on export controls, sanctions, customs, and broader international trade compliance matters. Combination of law firm and/or in-house experience preferred. Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced global environment. Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working cross-functionally with senior leadership.
