Job Description # Solar Installer / Solar Electrician / Site Surveyor Multiple Positions AvailablePV SKY USA LLC is hiring for multiple field positions supporting residential and commercial solar, battery-storage, EV-charger, and electrical projects throughout Los Angeles and surrounding cities. We are currently seeking candidates for the following individual positions:- Solar Installer- Solar Electrician- Site Surveyor Applicants may apply for one position or indicate if they have experience in multiple areas. Position 1: Solar Installer The Solar Installer will be responsible for the safe and professional installation of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
Responsibilities:
Install solar panels, rails, attachments, mounting systems, and related rooftop equipment.- Layout solar arrays according to approved plans and measurements.- Locate rafters and complete roof attachments using approved waterproofing methods.- Assist with installing inverters, batteries, junction boxes, conduit, and electrical equipment.- Safely use ladders, fall-protection equipment, hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment.- Perform solar panel removals and reinstallations for roofing projects.- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.- Follow approved plans, manufacturer instructions, and company quality standards.- Take clear progress and completion photos and upload them throughout the workday.- Work closely with electricians, project managers, roofers, and other crew members.
Qualifications:
Previous solar installation, roofing, or construction experience preferred.- Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and elevated structures.- Familiarity with common solar mounting and racking systems is a plus.- Ability to lift and carry solar panels, ladders, tools, and materials.- Ability to read basic plans, measurements, and array layouts.- Knowledge of fall protection and construction-site safety.- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a crew.- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.- OSHA training or solar manufacturer certifications are a plus. Position 2: Solar Electrician The Solar Electrician will be responsible for installing, wiring, troubleshooting, and commissioning solar PV, battery-storage, EV-charger, and other electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
Install and wire inverters, batteries, EV chargers, disconnects, transformers, gateways, and electrical panels.- Install conduit, conductors, grounding, bonding, breakers, overcurrent protection, and related electrical equipment.- Read and interpret electrical plans, single-line diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer instructions.- Perform main service panel upgrades, subpanel installations, load relocations, and electrical equipment replacements.- Complete high-voltage and low-voltage electrical work safely.- Test, troubleshoot, and commission solar and battery systems.- Verify that electrical installations comply with approved plans, NEC requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.- Assist with inspections, corrections, service calls, and system diagnostics.- Document completed work with clear photographs, equipment information, and testing results.- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Qualifications:
Previous electrical experience in solar, residential, commercial, or construction environments.- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, grounding, bonding, and overcurrent protection.- Ability to read schematics, electrical plans, and single-line diagrams.- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and safe electrical work practices.- Experience with solar PV, battery-storage systems, EV chargers, or service-panel work is preferred.- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment.- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and communication issues.- California electrical certification, electrical license, OSHA training, or manufacturer certifications are a plus.- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Position 3: Site Surveyor The Site Surveyor will collect accurate field information needed to design, engineer, permit, and install solar PV, battery-storage, EV-charger, and electrical projects.
Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed pre-installation site surveys at residential and commercial properties.- Inspect and document the utility meter, main service panel, subpanels, grounding system, breakers, and electrical service.- Record panel manufacturers, model numbers, bus ratings, breaker sizes, conductor sizes, service ratings, and available electrical capacity.- Measure and document roofs, including roof type, pitch, dimensions, condition, access points, and attachment areas.- Identify rafters, trusses, framing, attic conditions, obstructions, and possible conduit routes.- Document vents, skylights, shading, setbacks, roof obstructions, and equipment-clearance requirements.- Identify suitable locations for solar equipment, batteries, inverters, disconnects, gateways, and EV chargers.- Determine possible conduit, wiring, trenching, and equipment-placement routes.- Take clear, complete, and organized photographs of all required areas.- Create basic sketches and record accurate measurements using company forms or mobile applications.- Upload completed survey documentation promptly and verify that nothing is missing before leaving the site.- Identify potential safety concerns, access limitations, change-order conditions, or installation challenges.- Communicate professionally with homeowners, tenants, property managers, and project partners.- Protect the customer's property and leave all inspected areas clean and secure.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in solar surveying, solar installation, electrical work, roofing, or construction preferred.- Ability to identify common electrical equipment, roof types, structural framing, and installation obstacles.- Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, in attics, crawl spaces, and around electrical equipment.- Ability to take accurate measurements and detailed photographs.- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, measuring tools, pitch gauges, and mobile applications.- Ability to work independently and complete surveys without missing required information.- Good written and verbal communication skills.- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel between jobsites.- Drone experience, OSHA training, solar certifications, or electrical experience are a plus.
