Providing practical legal advice on U.S. and global privacy matters, the full-time, remote Privacy Counsel, NV Licensed will manage privacy compliance, data governance, and risk mitigation while partnering with various business teams to support Nielsen's privacy program.
Key responsibilities: Advise on compliance with U.S. federal and state privacy laws, including CCPA/CPRA, and translate legal developments into actionable guidance Draft, review, and negotiate data processing agreements and related privacy provisions in commercial contracts Conduct privacy impact assessments and due diligence on third parties, identifying risks and recommending mitigations
Required qualifications: 2 - 5 years of experience in privacy, data protection, or related legal work, preferably in-house or at a law firm J.D. or equivalent legal qualification and admission to at least one U.S. state bar Experience with U.S. state privacy regulations and conducting privacy risk assessments Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate data processing agreements and privacy-related contract terms Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex privacy requirements clearly
