$60,000 to $75,000

Who are we? ATG is leading the transformation of the multi-billion dollar global auction industry. The company has grown rapidly over the last 7 years, to over $170m of revenue and over $80m of profits today.
The company: IPO’d in 2021 and has had a successful run both during the Covid period and after. ATG is early in our journey to establish a hugely influential global internet company that is revolutionizing one of the last industries in the world yet to move significantly online. What do we do? ATG connects thousands of auction houses, listing millions of items worth over $15 billion annually (and growing!), to buyers in over 170 countries around the world. These buyers generate over 100 million bids a year for our sellers, helping them achieve maximum value for the goods they sell. We help auctioneers sell everything from medieval swords to combine harvesters, paintings and decorative art through to classic cars, furniture, and Caterpillar forklifts. We do this through 8 marketplaces that leverage our online auction technologies. We make auctioneers more efficient, we make small companies big by bringing them access to millions of bidders they could never find on their own, and we bring them technology they could never afford alone. We bring bidders choice of unique and specialized items, convenience, and trust. And we do it all in a shared success model that accelerates growth of the circular economy and sustainable buying. With ATG, our buyers and sellers win but so too does the planet! We have ethical ambition and it’s something our employees value and is a key part of who we are….as well as being a high growth marketplace company with excellent competitive positioning! Where are we now? ATG achieved “first mover advantage” in each of the sectors we serve. As such, we have benefited from incredible network effects meaning that as we brought the most sellers, we attracted more buyers and as we brought more buyers, we then organically attracted more sellers. This symbiotic relationship has been pivotal to our profitable growth. ATG established a vision that has 3 big strategic phases for how we will lead the transformation of the auction industry. Phase 1 was assembling the critical mass of marketplaces and technologies that would serve as the foundation on which we would build. It enabled us to capitalize on the network effects and set ourselves apart from competitors. We are now in Phase 2. Here, we are building out eCommerce basics, following the well-trodden path of online marketplace development---improved UI and UX, implementing best practice conversion funnel actions, improving trust, adding payment and shipping options, and much more. The goal is: Maximize Quality Bidders. On the seller side, we are focused on creating a one-stop-shop for auctioneers where they can get access to auction marketplaces where they find the best bidders, interconnectivity to enable them to rapidly reach the bidders on ANY of our marketplaces, digital marketing services, shipping services to improve their efficiency and customer experiences and payments to complete the fulfillment. Phase 3 entails transformative ways to use these services to bring even more value to auctioneers and bidders alike. We can go into that if you progress through the interview process! Who are we looking for? As an Automation Associate, you’ll find the manual work that slows ATG down and build a solution that removes or eliminates the manual work. You’ll take automation opportunities from a sized-up idea to a working, deployed tool that real teams use every day across Operations, Finance, and HR.This is a build role. You’ll sit with the people doing the work to understand how a process runs today, size what automating it is worth, design the future-state flow, document the requirements, and then build the solution yourself using AI-assisted development tools. From there you’ll deploy it inside the business, drive adoption, and track the time and cost it gives back. We’re looking for someone who has already automated things nobody asked them to automate, because the manual version annoyed them. You might come from operations, analytics, support, or a technical background; what matters is a track record of building working things and the judgment to know when a process should be fixed rather than automated. This role delivers against ATG’s Hands-Off Keyboard (HOK) mandate: our commitment to taking manual work out of the business. You’ll work alongside our Applied AI Lead, who sets the standards, reviews your work, and will help you grow. This role is built as a launchpad: do it well and the path to Automation Manager is a short and clear one. What are the key responsibilities? Opportunity Sizing Take automation opportunities from the intake pipeline and work out what they’re actually worth. You’ll quantify the manual effort a process consumes today, estimate the time and cost a solution would return, and be candid when it isn’t worth building. Process Discovery & Design Sit with the teams doing the work to map how a process runs today. Design the future-state automated flow and document requirements clearly enough that the build is unambiguous. Building & Shipping Build the solution yourself using AI-assisted development and low-code tools. You’ll iterate quickly, test against real scenarios and messy real data, and get to a working product rather than a specification. Deployment & Adoption Roll tools out to the teams who’ll use them — training, documentation, and the follow-through that turns a launch into a habit. You’ll stay close after go-live, fix what breaks, and improve what people quietly work around. Ongoing Maintenance & Support You own what you build. Tools break, processes change, edge cases surface, and upstream systems get updated without warning. You’ll be the support line for the automations in your portfolio including triaging issues, fixing them quickly, and making improvements as the business evolves. Measurement Track what each automation delivers. Your numbers feed directly into how we prioritize what’s built next. Building Safely Work within the governance, security, and data-privacy standards we set for AI-built tools, and flag it early when a project runs up against them. Who are you? You build things. Automations, internal tools, scripts, apps, workflows, a spreadsheet that quietly runs something important. Comfortable with AI-assisted development and low-code tools, or clearly capable of picking them up fast. You do not need a software engineering background. Genuinely curious about how a business works. You ask why a process exists before you automate it, and you’re willing to tell someone their process should be deleted rather than built. Strong written communication — you can document a process, write clear requirements, and explain a tool to someone who didn’t build it. A self-starter who wants ownership early. You’ll get real projects quickly, and this role rewards people who run and fail fast.
Bonus: exposure to operations, finance, or HR systems; experience in marketplaces or e-commerce; familiarity with tools such as Lovable, Claude Code, Zapier, Airtable, or similar. Auction Technology Group is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $60,000 to $75,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
