Job Description:
  • Utilize your expertise in patient services and history taking to make a difference in patients' lives.
  • Collaborate with physicians and technical support staff to perform essential diagnostic tests for evaluating eye health.
  • Master the art of instrument maintenance and basic clinical optics while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct a variety of procedures including:
  • Intermediate tonometry
  • Visual fields testing
  • Autorefractor usageOCT and fundus photography
  • Engage with patients through:
  • Detailed eye exams
  • Teaching and advising on ocular medications and contact lens care
  • Maintain a clean and safe clinical setting through aseptic techniques and biohazard waste disposal.
  • Prepare patients for exams and surgical procedures, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
  • Document patient histories accurately and assist in chart preparation to enhance efficiency.
  • Build meaningful relationships with patients by providing excellent communication and care.
Position Requirements: At least 1 year of experience in an adult outpatient clinic or physician's office.
Required Certifications: BLSPreferred Certifications: COAFamiliarity with EPIC and experience with ophthalmic equipment such as: Humphrey visual field analyzer PentacamLensometer
Work Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-Hour (08:30 - 17:00)
Orientation provided with two Certified Ophthalmic Technicians (COTs).
Additional Information: Candidates must have valid California license at the time of submission.75-mile radius rule applies. Candidates will float within the hospital when needed.
