Our district mission is to empower each learner to excel in diverse communities. Ochard FarmSchool Dis trictis located in St. Charles, MO with a current enrollment of approximately2,600students and growing. Over the last decade, new developments like Charlestowne and New Town, situated along Highway 370, have contributed significantly to our increase in enrollment. Orchard Farm has beennamedby staff as a Top Workplace since 2017.

Paraprofessionals provides social, physical, and academic support and/or supervision in general and special education settings, including but not limited to, the cafeteria, classrooms, recess, and assemblies. These services may include ambulatory, eating and toileting assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent, required
60 credit hours from an accredited college/university or DESE approved 20-hour substitute certification course, required

Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents in a positive manner
Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
Ability to follow written and oral communication
Ability to use word processing and data entry systems
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occassionaly
Ability to squat, bend, kneel, reach, walk, standfrequently
Ability to problem solve situations in a professional and logical manner
Ability to remain calm and patient at all times
Ability to motivate students for classroom achievements

An individual who holds this position is required to:
Assist students with disabilities according to their individualized needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, or positioning
Assist students with physical care including feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene Assist in managing the behavior of students
Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students
Maintain confidentiality of information about children and their families in accordance with Board policy and law
Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and special events when requested by administration
Help supervise arrival and departure of students, and provide supervision and support in multiple settings throughout the school day
Follow instructions from teachers and administrators
The position is in a regular school setting that is noisy and active. Occassional outdoor activities are required such as loading and unloading students from district transportation and supervising recess.
