Survey Crew Worker - C

Duties and Responsibilities: Assists Survey Crew Chief in land and road surveys related to construction projects Operates survey instruments to determine location of rights-of-way, elevations, and distances for setting rods and stakes Cuts brush and clears area for surveying Assists with maintaining and servicing survey vehicle and equipment Utilizes flagging to direct traffic on road construction sites for public safety Performs related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate Knowledge of safety standards and practices Skill in the operation of hand tools; skill in the operation of surveying instruments; skill in performing basic mathematical calculations Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; ability to understand distance and measurements; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees and the general public Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test Must have a valid Texas driver's license May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek Required to be on-call 24-hours a day Bexar County offers employees a competitive salary, retirement, and benefits.
