We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead commercial retail construction projects throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing Sam’s Club construction projects and be comfortable taking full ownership of field operations from project mobilization through completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a Superintendent who enjoys traveling, leading subcontractors, working on large-scale retail projects, and being the primary field leader on the jobsite.
Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day field operations for commercial retail construction projects. Serve as the primary onsite leader and company representative. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel. Manage project schedules and maintain production milestones. Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications. Coordinate inspections, deliveries, materials, and site logistics. Conduct regular subcontractor and project coordination meetings. Monitor workmanship, quality control, and project progress. Maintain a safe and organized jobsite while enforcing OSHA and company safety standards. Identify and resolve field issues before they impact the project schedule. Communicate regularly with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors, architects, and other project stakeholders. Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, photographs, and field records. Manage punch lists, closeout activities, and project turnover. Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to company and client expectations.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years of commercial construction Superintendent experience. Proven experience managing Sam’s Club. Experience with big-box retail, grocery, QSR, or other large-scale commercial construction is highly valued. Ability to independently manage a project and lead multiple subcontractors and trades. Strong understanding of construction scheduling and field coordination. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
