Senior Estimator - HVAC & Plumbing

The Opportunity: Our client is a well-established mechanical contracting company seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to take a leading role in estimating, preconstruction, client relationships, and project support. This is an opportunity for an estimator who wants to have a greater impact beyond producing estimates — helping shape proposals, identify project risk and profitability, and build relationships that contribute to the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities: Develop accurate estimates and detailed takeoffs for HVAC and plumbing projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Review plans, specifications, schedules, and project requirements to identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities. Lead the proposal process, including vendor/subcontractor pricing, bid summaries, assumptions, clarifications, and pricing recommendations. Partner with operations and project management throughout preconstruction and project turnover. Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and subcontractors. Support project pursuits and business development by providing technical expertise and helping identify opportunities for profitable growth.

What We're Looking For: 5+ years of progressive mechanical/plumbing estimating experience with a proven track record. Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical piping, plumbing systems, construction methods, and project costs, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting. Ability to independently interpret complex drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and construction documents. Experience with estimating software and strong Microsoft Office skills. Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills. A commercially minded professional who is comfortable working directly with customers and industry partners.
