Environmental Engineer or Scientist

Overview Join GHD’s Midland, TX Environmental team to contribute to Contamination Assessment & Remediation projects. You will design and implement engineering solutions, coordinate permitting, and support site remediation and waste management efforts. Work with a high-performing team to deliver practical environmental solutions that meet regulatory requirements and client needs. Responsibilities Design and validate engineering solutions; plan feasibility testing and supervise its implementation Adhere to HSE policies to identify and mitigate workplace risks Lead or supervise waste management projects ensuring regulatory compliance Support technical troubleshooting and analysis of equipment and experiments Recommend technical developments to improve systems and user experience Create engineering drawings to communicate solutions Collect and analyze data using prescribed tools and methods Manage projects within established plans Design test procedures from product specifications Conduct research and support others in research activities Develop personal capabilities through training and certification as appropriate Coordinate project permitting and evaluate environmental regulations Interpretation/evaluation of environmental regulations Data compilation, reduction, and interpretation Understand remediation methods and O&M requirements Travel for field work as required Prepare technical correspondence, proposals, reports, and work plans Key requirements 13 months to 3 years of experience in environmental consulting Experience with environmental permitting, compliance, remediation/design, site assessments, data management and project coordination Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work both in a team and independently Knowledge of NMOCD and NM SLO rules and regulations related to assessment and remediation Willingness to travel for field workOSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plusPE or PG in Texas or New Mexico highly regarded Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field Strong written and verbal communication Ability to work both in a team and independently Attention to detail Waste management and site remediation Remediation design and evaluation Environmental permitting and compliance
