We're partnering with an innovative AI-powered industrial technology startup that is transforming manufacturing quality, safety, and automation through advanced machine vision systems. Their solutions are deployed on high-speed production lines and leverage computer vision to improve inspection accuracy, reduce defects, and increase operational efficiency. We're seeking a Hardware Applications Engineer to lead the design and deployment of camera and vision-system hardware in real-world manufacturing environments.
What You'll Do: Design camera mounts, brackets, frames, enclosures, and related mechanical structures for machine vision systems. Evaluate manufacturing environments to determine optimal camera and lighting placement. Create CAD models, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and installation documentation. Design solutions that account for vibration, accessibility, adjustability, line speed, and environmental challenges. Collaborate with software, electrical, vision, and deployment teams to develop complete inspection systems. Work with fabricators, vendors, and integrators to manufacture and install equipment. Support on-site installation, alignment, testing, and troubleshooting. Continuously improve hardware designs based on deployment feedback.
What We're Looking For: 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, hardware engineering, systems integration, or industrial automation. Hands-on experience designing structures, fixtures, or mounting systems for industrial cameras, machine vision systems, robotics, or manufacturing equipment. Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and CAD-based design workflows. Experience creating production-ready drawings and fabrication packages. Understanding of vibration control, tolerances, environmental factors, and their impact on vision-system performance. Experience taking designs from concept through fabrication, installation, and validation. Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred: ExperienceIndustrial cameras, optics, lenses, and lighting systems. Machine vision or automated inspection systems. Conveyors, machine guarding, PLC-controlled equipment, or industrial electrical systems. Manufacturing-line equipment deployment and field support.
Ideal Backgrounds: Candidates from industrial automation, machine vision, robotics, packaging equipment, factory automation, systems integration, or manufacturing engineering environments are highly encouraged to apply.
Benefits:
