What you'll be doing:
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment, material handling systems, building infrastructure and production support equipment. The role covers preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, inspections and equipment installations while helping minimize downtime and support continuous improvement. Equipment maintenance and repair Perform maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment including lasers, press brakes, CNC machines and other production equipment Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems Maintain and repair electric, pneumatic and manual tools Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and uptime Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications and installations Facility and infrastructure maintenance Maintain building systems including doors, dock plates, lighting, HVAC systems, air handling equipment, air lines and plumbing systems Perform grounds maintenance and general facility upkeep as needed Support shop layout changes and facility improvements Material handling equipment Maintain and repair forklifts, hoists, jibs, clamps, slings and other lifting equipment Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on material handling equipment Safety and compliance Follow and perform lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance activities Conduct and document daily, monthly, quarterly and annual safety inspections Support OSHA compliance and company safety initiatives Communicate and enforce safety expectations with contractors and vendors Participate in Safety Committee activities and provide recommendations for improvement Documentation and team support Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Track maintenance activities, costs and equipment history Communicate equipment issues and repair status to leaders and production teams Work closely with production personnel to minimize downtime and maintain workflow Assist production teams as needed Support other maintenance team members in completing projects and repairs Machines, equipment and systems You will work on lasers, press brakes, CNC machines and other production equipment, plus forklifts, hoists, jibs, clamps and slings, building systems such as HVAC, air handling, air lines and plumbing, and the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems behind them.
What we're looking for:
Required High school diploma or GED Experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical manuals Experience using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment Forklift and hoist experience Basic computer skills Understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends or on-call as needed Preferred Technical, vocational or trade school training Experience with welding, HVAC, PLCs or industrial controls Skills and competencies Mechanical aptitude: understand, maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and mechanical systems Electrical knowledge: diagnose and repair electrical components and systems within scope of training and applicable regulations Troubleshooting: quickly identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions Attention to detail: perform repairs, inspections and maintenance accurately and thoroughly Safety awareness: recognize hazards, follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment Time management: prioritize maintenance activities and respond to changing production needs Communication: clearly communicate maintenance issues, repair status and recommendations Teamwork and leadership: work effectively with maintenance personnel, production teams, contractors and leadership while helping guide less experienced team members Physical requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting and reaching Ability to climb ladders, work at heights and work in confined spaces when required Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment safely and with precision Ability to work in manufacturing environments that may include heat, cold, dust, noise and varying conditions Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators and other equipment as required Pay, benefits and schedule Starting wage: $28.25 per hour Benefits package includes: Medical, dental and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Generous PTO including vacation and paid holidays Short- and long-term disability coverage Life insurance Employee assistance program Opportunities for growth and development About Virnig Manufacturing and how to apply Virnig Manufacturing is a leading manufacturer of high-quality skid steer attachments with over 35 years of industry experience.
