AmeriCorps Student Success Coach – Education Nonprofit

City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class academic support to students in core subjects Lead small-group and one-on-one tutoring and mentoring sessions Support students’ attendance, behavior, and social-emotional development Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify and track student needs Assist with classroom management and positive learning environments Plan and facilitate after-school or enrichment activities as assigned Collect and document student progress data and participation Engage families and community partners when appropriate Participate in City Year training, reflection, and professional development Uphold AmeriCorps and City Year service standards, policies, and values Classroom support Tutoring and academic support Youth mentoring Behavior management Data entry and progress monitoring Communication (oral and written) Team collaboration Time management and organization Cultural competency and equity-focused practice Basic computer skills (e.g., Google Suite, email, virtual learning tools) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for school and AmeriCorps service Completion of City Year pre-service training Commitment to full-time service for entire school year
