General Construction Laborer

What We're Looking For: You should be an experienced carpenter who can walk onto a jobsite, understand the scope of work, organize the work that needs to happen, and execute it efficiently. The right candidate will:- Have substantial hands-on carpentry and construction experience- Be capable of leading projects and directing other crew members when necessary- Understand residential remodeling, restoration, and general construction- Produce quality work without sacrificing speed or safety- Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, subcontractors, and management- Recognize problems and work toward solutions instead of waiting for someone else to solve them- Take responsibility for their work, including mistakes- Show up prepared, on time, and ready to work- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite- Have the judgment to know when to make a decision and when to ask a questionPLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF:You are chronically late or unreliable. Our customers and the rest of the crew should not have to wonder whether you're showing up. You need constant supervision to remain productive. A Lead Carpenter is expected to lead, not wait to be told what to do every 15 minutes. Your first response to a problem is an excuse. Construction has problems. We need people who identify them, communicate them, and help solve them. You cannot take constructive criticism or accountability. Everyone makes mistakes. Professionals own them, correct them, and learn from them. You exaggerate your experience. If you say you can do something, we are going to expect you to be able to do it. Be straightforward about what you know and what you don't. You think "good enough" is the standard. Our customers are paying for professional work, and that is what we expect to deliver. You have to be chased for basic communication. If something changes, something goes wrong, or you need something, communicate it. You disregard jobsite safety or treat company/customer property carelessly. You bring unnecessary drama to the jobsite. We're here to work, solve problems, take care of our customers, and go home proud of what we accomplished.
