TEMPORARY REFUSE COLLECTION WORKER

Pay Rate: $18.24/hour

Job Summary: The Temporary Refuse Collection Worker will assist with the City of Richardson’s refuse collection operations. The position involves collecting and handling refuse, supporting collection routes, and following all required safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities: Assist with refuse collection, loading, and handling. Repeatedly enter and exit collection vehicles during assigned routes. Lift, carry, and move refuse and other materials. Use hand tools and small engine equipment as required. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow PPE requirements, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions. Report injuries, accidents, property damage, or unsafe conditions immediately. Perform other duties as assigned by the City supervisor. Qualifications &

Work Environment: Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and frequent movement. Comfortable working outdoors in heat and changing weather conditions. Ability to work around dust, fumes, refuse, and cleaning chemicals. Must be able to follow safety instructions and recognize workplace hazards. Must complete required safety orientation and training.
