Environmental Engineer

Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with EPA, Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), and local environmental regulations. Manage environmental permits, reporting requirements, and regulatory inspections. Conduct environmental audits, impact assessments, and compliance reviews. Lead waste management, recycling, emissions reduction, and sustainability initiatives. Monitor environmental performance metrics and analyze data to identify compliance risks and improvement opportunities. Investigate environmental incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, and safety teams to drive environmental improvements. Develop and maintain environmental management systems, policies, and procedures. Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies. Support environmental due diligence activities for new projects, facility expansions, or acquisitions. Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and environmental documentation. Provide environmental training and guidance to employees and management.

Qualifications: Required Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of environmental compliance or environmental engineering experience. Knowledge of EPA regulations, Maryland environmental regulations, and permitting processes. Experience conducting environmental audits and compliance assessments. Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental data analysis tools. Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) certification. Experience in manufacturing, industrial, logistics, construction, or energy sectors. Experience with air permitting, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, or hazardous waste programs. Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems. GIS, environmental modeling, or sustainability reporting experience.
