P&C E&S Binding Biligual Production Underwriter

Role Description: The P&C E&S Binding Production Underwriter is a full-time, production role based in LA, SF, TX, IL, NYC. This role is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and underwriting new and renewal E&S business within established guidelines, focusing on profitability and growth. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating submissions, assessing risk characteristics, determining appropriate coverage terms, conditions, and pricing, and preparing quotes and binders. The underwriter works closely with retail agents and carrier partners, negotiates terms, responds to inquiries, and manages a production-focused book of business. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate underwriting files, tracking pipeline and production metrics, and staying current on industry trends, carrier appetites, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong property and casualty underwriting skills, with experience in excess and surplus lines and binding authority business. Candidates should possess solid analytical and risk assessment skills, including the ability to review applications, loss runs, and supporting documentation to make sound underwriting decisions. Candidates should possess effective communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with agents, present terms clearly, and build long-term business relationships. Candidates should possess strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple submissions, meet deadlines, and manage a production-oriented workload. Candidates should possess proficiency with common insurance and office software systems and the ability to learn carrier portals and rating platforms. Relevant qualifications such as prior P&C E&S Binding underwriting or broker placement experience, knowledge of New York or target regional insurance markets, and professional designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM, or other industry certifications) are highly beneficial.
