Technical Application Developer And Automation Engineer Savvee Inc. is seeking a technical Application Developer and Automation Engineer to support our federal client onsite in Ashburn, VA. This position will design, develop, integrate, deploy, and sustain custom applications and automated workflows for Government oversight functions. The role supports financial management, onboarding, centralized intake, approvals, task management, reporting automation, and integration among the client's management tools. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively with Government stakeholders, program leadership, functional leads, contractor personnel, and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-moving, mission-focused environment.
Essential Functions:
  • Analyzing current business processes and defining application, integration, automation, data, security, and user requirements.
  • Designing and building scalable applications, services, interfaces, scripts, and workflows in Government-approved technologies.
  • Integrating project, financial, contract, workforce, intake, and reporting solutions using approved APIs, data services, or controlled interfaces.
  • Implementing validation, authorization, error handling, audit logging, monitoring, configuration, and secure data handling.
  • Conducting unit, integration, system, security, accessibility, performance, and user-acceptance testing.
  • Supporting controlled release, deployment, rollback, documentation, training, adoption, maintenance, defect resolution, and enhancements.
  • Modernizing legacy or manual processes while maintaining continuity, data reconciliation, and clear cutover criteria.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned in support of evolving contract requirements and client needs.
  • Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support. Required Education And Training
  • Bachelor's degree Minimum Experience And Skills Required
  • Four or more years of application development, software engineering, systems integration, automation engineering, or comparable experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, scripts, or automated workflows.
  • Proficiency in one or more approved development stacks such as. NET/C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, SQL, or comparable technologies.
  • Strong secure development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, configuration-management, and user-support skills.
  • Must have the ability to obtain the client's Public Trust clearance. Desired But Not Required Qualifications
  • Federal, DHS, CBP, cloud, DevSecOps, application-modernization, or workflow-automation experience.
  • Experience with Azure services, APIs, CI/CD, Git, SharePoint or Power Platform integration, Section 508, logging, monitoring, and legacy-data migration.
  • Proven familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and responsible use of AI-assisted tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • A highly motivated self-starter.
  • Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skills.
