ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced Lead, Receiving Specialist to oversee inbound receiving operations supporting data center construction and operations in Memphis, TN. In this working-lead role, you will lead a team of Receiving Specialists in the accurate, timely, and damage-free receipt of high-value materials and equipment (including servers, networking gear, power systems, cooling infrastructure, and other critical components). You will combine hands-on execution with team leadership to maintain inventory integrity, resolve discrepancies, and support aggressive project timelines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of Receiving Specialists; assign work, provide training, and ensure consistent, high-quality execution of receiving processesOversee receipt of all incoming materials and packages; transact receipts in the ERP/WMS system and process hold packagesCreate, print, and apply routing labels and required identifiers; maintain accurate records of incoming paperworkVerify all material received for conformity with accompanying documentation, checking for damage, correct part numbers, and quantityInterface with carriers, vendors, purchasing, logistics, facilities, and construction/operations teams to resolve receipt, discrepancy, and distribution issuesCoordinate return shipments and reverse logisticsReview stagnant inventory reports and support location accuracy and inventory reconciliationOperate forklifts and powered industrial equipment in accordance with safety proceduresDrive good housekeeping, 5S, and process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safetyDocument non-conformances and support root-cause and corrective-action processes as neededBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate 3+ years of experience in receiving, supply chain, warehouse, or manufacturing environment, including at least 1 year in a lead, senior, or supervisory capacityPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:3+ years of experience in a receiving role, preferably supporting data center, construction, or high-tech operationsExperience with ERP or warehouse management systems and scanning equipment (RF/handheld scanners) Experience operating a forklift and other powered industrial equipmentExperience handling high-value or sensitive electronics, servers, or critical infrastructure componentsExperience with nonconforming material control, discrepancy resolution, and inventory accuracy processesStrong computer skills, including Microsoft suite proficiencyDemonstrated ability to lead teams, train others, and drive operational improvementsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be open to working either day shift (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM) or night shift (6:00 PM – 4:00 AM), Monday–Friday, with weekends included when needed to support 24/7 project demands; flexibility to cover overtime as requiredAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. unassistedAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform physical tasks for extended periodsWillingness to work in a warehouse environment that may include exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dustStrong commitment to safety protocols and proceduresSpaceXAI is an equal opportunity employer.
