Description: Chief Financial Officer · Rated Florida Property & Casualty Carrier We have been retained to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for a rated property and casualty carrier in Florida who are rapidly growing. The client is confidential at this stage.

The opportunity: The carrier is well capitalised, carries no debt and is backed by a global specialty insurance group with direct access to the London market. A new Chief Executive is in place and the business is about to build a commercial property and specialty book. The finance function is the next piece, and you will build it. You report to the Chief Executive and work closely with the Group CFO. You are in the room with the rating agency, the state regulator and the auditors.

What you will do: Own statutory accounting and all regulatory and NAIC filings, with management and group reporting alongside Own the capital plan, including risk-based capital and the rating agency capital model, tested against catastrophe scenarios Lead reinsurance accounting, recoverables and collateral, and work with the appointed actuary on reserves Oversee a conservative investment portfolio and liquidity Lead the financial relationship with the rating agency, the regulator and the auditors Build the finance team, the systems and the controls Who we are looking forA finance leader from a property and casualty carrier, with statutory accounting at the core of your record Hands-on experience of preparing and signing off statutory annual and quarterly statements Experience of a rating agency review and a state regulatory examination. Florida experience is an advantageA clear understanding of how a catastrophe-exposed property book consumes capitalA builder who has set up or rebuilt a finance function in a lean businessA sitting carrier CFO, or a strong deputy ready for the top seatA qualified accountant Location Based in Tampa, Florida. This is an in-office / hybrid role. Local candidates are preferred. Salary Range: $300,000 - $450,000 Base + Bonus
