Mandarin-Speaking Patent Attorney

Duties: Prepare and prosecute patent applications in computer-related technology fields. File and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO and foreign offices. Oversee patent application processes in jurisdictions including China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Direct foreign associates in English and Chinese on patent applications. Conduct invention disclosure meetings in Chinese and English. Review and evaluate complex invention disclosures and technical documents. Translate patent applications between Chinese and English. Perform prior art searches for patentability and validity. Advise and represent clients in private matters and before government agencies.

Requirements: Juris Doctor degree and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Licensed to practice law. 3 years of experience as an IP attorney. Membership in a state bar association. Licensed and in good standing to practice before the USPTO. Fluent in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese. Knowledge of complex computer and electrical technologies. Education Juris Doctor degree. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
