The team advises leading developers, private equity firms, institutional investors, lenders and other sophisticated clients on a broad range of complex real estate matters. The role offers exposure to high-value transactions and the opportunity to work closely with experienced practitioners and clients across the full real estate lifecycle.
The Role:
- Advising clients on a broad range of commercial real estate matters
- Handling complex acquisitions, dispositions, development and financing transactions
- Advising private equity firms, institutional investors, developers and other real estate investors
- Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, leases and other real estate documentation
- Advising on real estate finance transactions, including acquisition and development financing
- Supporting clients on real estate development, investment and portfolio matters
- Conducting due diligence and identifying and managing transaction-related risks
- Working directly with clients, opposing counsel, lenders and other transaction stakeholders
- Collaborating with colleagues across the firm's Corporate, Finance, Tax and Private Equity practices
Candidate Profile:
- 3+ years' experience in Real Estate law
- Strong experience in commercial real estate transactions
- Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, development, leasing and/or real estate finance preferred
- Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
- Experience at a leading law firm preferred, although strong candidates from specialist or mid-sized real estate practices will also be considered
- Comfortable taking ownership of matters and managing competing deadlines
- Strong academic and professional credentials
- Illinois Bar admission preferred
- Commercially minded, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team
