What you’ll do: Assess residents’ respiratory status and carry out respiratory care plans as orderedProvide care for residents on ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP and supplemental oxygenPerform tracheostomy care, suctioning and airway managementAdminister nebulizer treatments, inhaled medications and other respiratory therapiesMonitor vital signs, oxygen saturation and resident response to treatmentAssist with ventilator weaning and pulmonary rehabilitation goalsCheck, clean and maintain respiratory equipment in line with infection control standardsRespond to respiratory emergencies and support the nursing team as neededEducate residents, families and staff on respiratory care and equipmentDocument all assessments and treatments accurately and on timeWhat we’re looking forGraduate of an accredited respiratory therapy programRRT or CRT credential through the NBRC (RRT preferred) Active Rhode Island respiratory care license in good standingCurrent BLS certificationVentilator and tracheostomy care experience preferredExperience in long-term care, subacute or long-term acute care a plusStrong communication skills and a compassionate, resident-focused approachWhy join Respiratory and Rehab of RI?Flexible per diem schedule that works around your lifeCompetitive pay A specialized respiratory setting where your skills are valued A supportive clinical team where your work makes a real difference in residents’ livesRespiratory and Rehab of RI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
