Acute Care Charge Nurse

As a Charge Nurse at UCHealth, you will coordinate patient care on an acute care unit, overseeing nursing staff and daily clinical operations. You’ll lead by example, allocate resources, support evidence-based practice, and ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, you will mentor nurses, assist with staffing and bed management, and promote a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement that reflects UCHealth’s mission and values. Supervise and coordinate daily nursing care on assigned unit Act as clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Oversee staffing, assignments, and bed flow for the unit Monitor quality, safety, and regulatory compliance metrics Support evidence-based practice and clinical protocols Facilitate patient and family communication and education Participate in onboarding and coaching of new staff Respond to emergencies and escalate concerns appropriately Contribute to a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and improvement Acute care nursing Charge nurse leadership Patient assessment and triage Care coordination Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Medication administration and IV therapy Clinical decision-making and critical thinking Staff scheduling and assignment Interdisciplinary team collaboration Quality and patient safety practices Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current CO RN license or compact state equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Charge nurse or leadership training preferred
