The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op will support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives within the manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience in process optimization, facility layout design, manufacturing standards, and Lean Manufacturingpractices. Theco-opwillworkcloselywithengineeringandproductionteamstoimproveefficiency, quality, safety, andoverallmanufacturingperformancewhilegainingexposuretoreal-worldengineeringchallenges. Key
Responsibilities: DevelopandmaintainfacilitylayoutdrawingsforproductionandsupportareasusingCADsoftware. Analyzemanufacturingworkflowsandproposeimprovementstoprocessflow, spaceutilization, andoperationalefficiencyusing Lean Manufacturingprinciples. Conducttimestudiesandmaintainmanufacturinglaborstandards. Createandupdatestandardworkdocumentationandmanufacturingprocedures. Evaluatedatacollectionsystems, recommendenhancements, andsupportimplementationofimprovements. Assessergonomics, workplacesafety, and 5 Scompliancewithinmanufacturingoperations. Supportthedevelopment, testing, andimprovementofmanufacturingmethods, processes, andequipment. Analyzeworkflow, equipmentlayouts, andproductionrequirementstoimprovemanufacturingefficiencyandproductivity. Collect, analyze, andsummarizemanufacturingdatatoidentifytrendsandsupportdecision-making. Investigatemanufacturingissues, identifyrootcauses, andassistinimplementingcorrectiveactions. Researchanddocumentopportunitiesforcollaborativerobotics(cobots)andopticalinspectiontechnologieswithinmanufacturingflowcells. Maintainhighstandardsofproductqualitythroughorganization, workplacediscipline, andcontinuousimprovementefforts. Collaboratewithcross-functionalteamsandcontributetoengineeringprojectsasneeded.
Qualifications: Sophomorestandingorhigherin Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, orarelatedengineeringorsciencedisciplineatanaccreditedfour-yearcollegeoruniversity. ExperiencewithCADsoftware, preferably Solid Works. Stronganalytical, problem-solving, andcriticalthinkingskillswithkeenattentiontodetail. Abilitytomanagemultipleprojectsandmeetdeadlineswithminimalsupervision. Excellentverbal, written, andinterpersonalcommunicationskills. Willingnesstoworkdirectlyontheproductionfloorinafast-pacedmanufacturingenvironment. Proficiencyin Microsoft Officeapplications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Self-motivatedwithastrongdesiretolearn, acceptchallenges, andcontributetoateamenvironment. Abilitytoworkafull-timeinternshipschedule(40hoursperweek)throughouttheinternshipperiod.
