This role involves responding to pricing discrepancies and update requests from stores and vendors, assisting with technical and reporting issues, and addressing general inquiries from store and administrative associates. The Pricing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the pricing and DSD staff, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the pricing operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Create, maintain, and update pricing across multiple systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Respond to stores and vendors regarding pricing discrepancies and update requests.
Assist Pricing and DSD staff with technical and reporting issues and inquiries.
Answer general inquiries from store and administrative associates, not limited to pricing-related questions.
Utilize strong numerical and analytical skills to support pricing strategies and decisions.
Ensure attention to detail in understanding retail margins, promotions, and markdowns.
Leverage proficiency in Excel and, at times, SQL or BI tools to analyze data and generate reports.
Collaborate with team members to enhance pricing systems and processes.
Support the implementation of pricing strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.

Required education:
High school diploma or secondary school certificate. Preferred education: Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business Administration, Retail Management, Accounting or Finance, Supply Chain or Logistics - Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Management, Marketing, or Data Analytics.
Required experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in retail operations, pricing, merchandising, or a related role.
Preferred experience:
1–3 years of retail, pricing, merchandising, or data-related experience preferred. Required skills and abilities: Strong numerical and analytical skills - Proficiency in Excel (and sometimes SQL or BI tools) - Attention to detail and understanding of retail margins, promotions, and markdowns. Preferred skills and abilities: Experience with pricing systems, POS, or ERP software - Prior retail operations or merchandising experience.
