Course: Adolescent Issues and Intervention This course examines skills and practices of ministry to adolescents at risk. Students explore a philosophy of pastoral care from a practical theology and biblical perspective. The course addresses issues and problems that grow out of the developmental process, disorders that begin during or are unique to adolescence, as well as intervention, prevention, and referral strategies. The course serves as “pastoral first aid” where students will learn basic helping skills.
What You Will Do:
Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
What You Will Bring:
Minimum: Masters in Divinity (preferred) or Masters in Youth Ministry or Masters in Theology or Masters in Christian Studies from an accredited college or university with Youth Ministry coursework AND 2 or more years professional or teaching experience in the area of youth ministry.
