A leading utility EPC is seeking an experienced Substation Coordinator to support the delivery of a major substation construction project in Louisville, Kentucky. While the business refers to this position as a Substation Coordinator, the role is effectively a site-based Construction Manager position, with responsibility for coordinating and overseeing day-to-day construction activities and field execution. This is a permanent opportunity to join a growing utility contractor with a strong nationwide pipeline of transmission and substation projects, offering long-term career stability and the opportunity to work on critical utility infrastructure. The company is an established utility EPC delivering transmission, substation, solar, and battery energy storage projects across the United States. With a long history in the industry and a strong reputation with major utility clients, the business combines the stability of an established contractor with a close-knit, family-oriented culture. Employees benefit from a strong project backlog, opportunities for career progression, and the chance to take on increasing responsibility as the company continues to grow. As the Substation Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating all on-site construction activities for a major substation project. You will work closely with subcontractors, field crews, project management, engineering teams, and utility stakeholders to ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. Despite the Coordinator title, this is a hands-on construction leadership role suited to someone with experience overseeing substation or utility construction in the field. You will help coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress, resolve field issues, maintain safety and quality standards, and ensure the project remains on schedule.
What We're Looking For: Experience overseeing or coordinating utility substation construction projects Strong understanding of substation construction and field execution Experience working with electrical, civil, structural, or high-voltage utility infrastructure Background working on greenfield and/or brownfield substation projects Ability to coordinate subcontractors, field crews, and project stakeholders Strong understanding of construction safety, quality, scheduling, and project execution Experience working for a utility contractor, EPC, or directly with a utility client Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, field-based construction environment Willingness to be based on-site in Louisville, Kentucky
