A growing Houston-based personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney to join the practice in a senior leadership role as Co-Managing Attorney, working directly alongside the firm owner to help lead and grow the practice. This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished personal injury litigator who is ready to take the next step beyond simply managing a caseload. The ideal candidate is someone who wants a genuine voice in the firm's operations, strategy, culture, and growth while continuing to do what they do best — aggressively and effectively advocate for clients. The Co-Managing Attorney will have the opportunity to handle cases from intake through verdict, while partnering with ownership on the day-to-day management and long-term direction of the firm.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and aggressively litigate a caseload of personal injury matters from pre-suit through trial Take and defend depositions, draft and argue motions, and represent clients at mediations and settlement negotiations Develop case strategy and guide matters through all stages of litigation Try cases to verdict when a fair and appropriate resolution cannot be reached Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials throughout the greater Houston area Partner directly with the firm owner on day-to-day operations, staffing, workflow, and strategic decision-making Help shape and implement the firm's short- and long-term growth strategy Supervise, mentor, and develop case managers, paralegals, and litigation support staff Help establish best practices, improve processes, and maintain a high level of client service Serve as a senior leader and trusted partner in building the firm's culture and reputation
What We're Looking For: Substantial personal injury litigation experience, with the ability to manage cases from pre-suit through trial First-chair trial experience strongly preferred Strong deposition, negotiation, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy skills Proven ability to independently manage complex litigation matters Prior leadership, supervisory, or law firm management experience preferred — or demonstrated readiness to step into a leadership role Strong business judgment and the ability to think beyond individual cases Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented mindset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Genuine interest in helping build, grow, and shape a law firm Compensation & Benefits$150,000–$175,000 base salary, depending on experience 401(k) with employer match Senior-level leadership opportunity with direct access to ownership Meaningful influence over firm strategy, culture, staffing, and growth Opportunity to help build something rather than simply inherit a caseload Ready for Your Next Level? If you're an experienced personal injury trial attorney who is ready to move beyond simply practicing law and wants a real leadership role with a voice in how a firm operates and grows, this is an opportunity worth exploring. Bring your litigation experience. Bring your ideas. Help shape what comes next. HOUGW34
