Truck Scale Operator

What You'll Do: Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures Weigh and purchase inbound scrap Communicate pricing and material specifications clearly to customers Inspect incoming materials and flag non-acceptable items Coordinate with other scale operators to verify transactions Control traffic patterns in the yard Ensure every customer interaction is handled in a courteous, professional, and safe manner Cross-train in other positions and support teammates as needed Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

What We're Looking For: Minimum 3 years of customer service experience scrap metal or construction industry preferred Organized and detail-oriented Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines without cutting corners Strong communicator comfortable working with all types of customers and all levels of management Computer proficient experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and ability to learn in-house systems Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
