We are currently recruiting talent on behalf of our nonprofit network who has a position for a Janitorial Worker! This position is part of the AbilityOne Program. WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT As a Janitorial Worker, you be a member of the organizations Janitorial Services Operation, serving our government customers in providing a clean and sanitized work space. The Janitorial Worker independently cleans assigned areas within designated buildings using industry accepted methods, equipment and safety practices. WORK SCHEDULE & LOCATION Part-time Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 6:00am to 11:00am. Notably, depending on business need, there may be the opportunity to gain additional hours.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Perform general building cleaning that includes bathrooms, office areas, common areas, stairwells, windows, shelving, doors, auditoriums, classrooms, kitchens, cafeterias, etc. as stated within scope of work.
- Perform cleaning functions that will include vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, buffing floors, strip and wax floors, emptying garbage and recyclables, cleaning tabletops, microwaves, refrigerators, commonly used appliances, glass/mirrors, etc.
- Perform general exterior building maintenance that may include snow shoveling, walkway sanding, outside garbage pickup and container cleanup.
- Operate industrial equipment that may include scrubber, burnisher, power washer, snow shovel/thrower, etc.
- Perform work efficiently and to all contract specifications.
- Maintain and replenish inventory of supplies and materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill contract requirements. WHAT YOU BRING
- High School Diploma.
- One year of experience in routine maintenance/custodial duties preferred.
- Depending upon assignment, must be able to work in a variety of settings, weather conditions and locations.
- May be required to work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays to meet contract needs.
- Work independently, utilize good judgment, and possess a strong sense of initiative.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive federal and state background check.
- May be required to pass a Dept. of Defense Federal Clearance Check, depending upon assignment.
- May be required to be in possession of a vehicle during shift to drive to other work locations, depending upon assignment.
- Distribute and utilize equipment and work materials, which frequently include lifting, carrying, pushing, stooping.
- Move weights up to 30 lbs. on a constant basis and 50 lbs. on an occasional basis. COMPENSATION This position pays $17.95/hr
