Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Corporate & Foundation Relationsdevelops and manages a portfolio of corporate and privatefoundation prospects and partners to secure philanthropic supportfor university priorities. The position collaborates withuniversity leadership, faculty, and staff to identify fundingopportunities, develop competitive proposals, cultivate and stewardrelationships, and advance strategic fundraising initiatives thatsupport the university's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and independently manage a portfolio of corporate andfoundation prospects, driving all phases of the development lifecycle: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal, with responsibility for securing annualrenewals and new entry- and mid-level philanthropic investments insupport of university priorities.
Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to research, write, coordinate, and submit grant applications, proposals, andletters of inquiry, with a focus on entry- and mid-level awardsranging from $10,000 to $75,000. Lead the proposal developmentprocess with grant seekers and ensure alignment with universitypolicies, approval requirements, and gift and grant compliancestandards.
Lead prospect cultivation and stewardship activities, includingcampus visits, in-person and virtual meetings, presentationmaterials for corporate and foundation representatives, and thedevelopment of impact reports. Create and maintain the CFR LinkedInpage to promote external philanthropic engagement, and produce theCFR Grant Opportunities Digest to increase campus awareness ofphilanthropic opportunities and application deadlines.
Department University Development
Time Base: 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment: This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
Classification: Advancement Professional II
Compensation Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $5,274(Step #1) - $6,303(Step #10) per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range:
The CSU Classification SalaryRange for this position is $5,274 (Step #1) - $7,684 (Step #20) per month.

Establish and maintain collaborative workingrelationships with program staff, academic departments, the Vice President's office, and a variety of offices and individuals on andoff campus. Working knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, Power Point, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, Canva, CRMdatabases, grant research databases, and social media platformslike LinkedIn.` Ability to communicate with an ethnically andculturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow alluniversity policies, procedures, and guidelines including but notlimited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contributeto a positive university experience for each and every student andassist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision ofexcellence".
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and twoyears of related experience required.
Experience in higher education preferred.
The incumbent will be required to travel off campus and be able to travel some distance to accommodate potential donors and must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Licenses Valid California driver's license required
Physical Summary Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walkingand standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects(10 pounds or less).
