Reports to: Senior Pastor |Position: Full-Time Leadership RolePOSITION SUMMARYThe Chief of Staff & Ministries serves as a key organizational and ministry leader, helping translate the vision and priorities of the Senior Pastor into coordinated action across the church. This role provides leadership to staff and ministry teams, strengthens organizational effectiveness, oversees communications, and ensures ministries are aligned, healthy, and executing with excellence. The role combines people leadership, ministry oversight, strategic execution, communications, and operational coordination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Executive Leadership: Partner with the Senior Pastor to translate vision and strategic priorities into clear plans, decisions, and accountability. Staff Leadership: Provide leadership, coaching, coordination, and accountability for staff and ministry leaders while cultivating a healthy, collaborative culture. Ministry Oversight: Ensure ministries are spiritually healthy, strategically aligned, appropriately staffed, and effectively serving the congregation and community. Communications Oversight: Oversee church-wide communications and messaging, ensuring clear, consistent, timely, and mission-aligned communication across ministries, staff, congregation, digital channels, and key initiatives. Strategic Execution: Drive major church-wide initiatives from planning through implementation with clear ownership, timelines, resources, and measurable outcomes. Organizational Alignment: Strengthen coordination across ministries, departments, campuses, and leadership teams; identify and resolve gaps, duplication, and barriers to execution. Leadership Development: Develop staff and ministry leaders and strengthen systems for recruiting, equipping, and empowering leaders and volunteers. Executive Support & Decision-Making: Help prioritize issues requiring senior leadership attention, prepare for key decisions and meetings, and ensure decisions are communicated and followed through. Culture & Spiritual Leadership: Model the church's mission, values, and expected leadership behaviors while contributing to the spiritual and relational health of the staff and church.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: A spiritually mature, relationally strong, highly organized leader who can move comfortably between ministry leadership and organizational execution. A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred. The successful candidate demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead through both influence and authority. They see the big picture while ensuring important details are executed, build trust, navigate complexity and change, develop people, and create clarity in a growing ministry environment.
