Content Tutor

Essential Duties: Attending a one-hour tutor training Entering and updating availability on TutorTrac throughout the semester to allow students to schedule tutoring appointments Meeting and tutoring students on course material Maintaining ongoing communication with the Content Tutor Coordinator and discussing problems or potential problems as needed Reviewing course notes, textbook, etc. as needed to maintain necessary knowledge of the material Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: Degree seeking MoWest Student Enrolled at least part-time Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA Received an A or B in the course applicant is interested in tutoring Obtain a recommendation by the professor who currently teaches the course or who has taught the course in the past, or, in special circumstances, by the department chairperson.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who received an A in the aforementioned course Applicants who are eligible for Federal Work Study are encouraged to apply Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge in content area Student collaboration and interaction Flexibility Problem solving and critical thinking skills Physical Demands: Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Additional Demands: Possible online tutoring. Must have access to a stable internet connection and a device with working camera, microphone and speakers. Tutors will be hired throughout the academic year based on tutoring requests. May be up to 5 hours per week.
