Industrial Controls Technician – Manufacturing

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to support automated manufacturing equipment at our premium window and door facility. In this hands-on role, you’ll troubleshoot and repair PLC-based control systems, sensors, VFDs, and electrical components to minimize downtime and keep production running safely and efficiently. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, assist with control upgrades, document work in a CMMS, and collaborate with production and engineering teams. Troubleshoot and repair PLC-based control systems and automated equipment Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and control components Diagnose issues with sensors, VFDs, motors, and instrumentation to reduce downtime Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Document maintenance activities in a CMMS and maintain accurate records Collaborate with production and engineering teams on process improvements Support control system upgrades, modifications, and new equipment commissioning Follow safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safety standards PLC troubleshooting Electrical schematics reading Industrial controls maintenance Variable frequency drives (VFDs) Sensors and instrumentation Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Root cause analysis CMMS usage Preventive maintenance Industrial networking basics Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Associate degree in industrial electronics, automation, or related field Relevant experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance Familiarity with PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) Knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety practices Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training or certification preferred Industrial maintenance or controls certification a plus (e.g., NIMS, ISA)
