You’ll join the New Product Development Engineering team in a manufacturing operation that includes metal stamping, forming, and machining. Your work will focus on the electrical controls that make physical products function and the automated equipment used to test their performance and reliability. This is an early-career opportunity for someone with at least two years of relevant experience who enjoys working across programming, electrical hardware, and mechanical systems. Experience with industrial equipment, motor-driven products, machine building, or automated test systems would translate well. You should be comfortable reading schematics, troubleshooting equipment, and working directly with motors, sensors, and control hardware.
What you’ll do: Develop and improve control systems for electromechanical products and automated testing equipment. Maintain, program, and troubleshoot existing PLC-controlled systems. Work with engineers and outside development partners on circuit-board-based controls, motor control, and data collection. Select and integrate electrical components, including motors, encoders, load cells, and sensors. Develop and run automated tests to evaluate product performance, reliability, and service life. Troubleshoot electrical and controls problems, identify root causes, and verify corrective actions. Prepare and maintain electrical schematics, drawings, bills of materials, and test documentation. Coordinate technical requirements and testing with suppliers and outside contractors. Work with mechanical engineers and product managers to improve product designs and resolve performance issues.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. Two or more years of experience with circuit-board-based control systems, including hardware and embedded software. Programming experience with embedded controls using C, C++, or Python, and/or PLC and HMI systems. Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control hardware, wiring, and AC/DC circuits. Hands-on experience integrating electrical components into mechanical equipment or products. Experience collecting and analyzing test data. Practical troubleshooting skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage work across multiple projects.
Preferred experience: Controls or product-development work involving industrial machinery, powered equipment, or other electromechanical products. Developing automated test fixtures or equipment that measures product performance through repeated operating cycles. Motor control or closed-loop motion control. Additional PLC and HMI programming experience. Solid Works or other 3D CAD software. Windows applications that communicate with electronic controllers or PLC systems. Root-cause analysis and corrective action.
Pay and benefits: $86,000–$105,000 annual salary, depending on experience. Bonus eligibility. Full-time opportunity based in Denver. Health benefits, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off, subject to eligibility and plan terms.
