This seat is for someone with direct, hands-on electronic equities trading experience. Candidates must be able to work from Stamford at least three days per week.
Location: Stamford, CT
Base Salary:
Target $150-180K base salary, with some flexibility available dependent on experience.
Equity: Potential options or equity, subject to the final offer
Schedule:
At least three days per week in Stamford. More frequent Stamford attendance is preferred during onboarding, with a more flexible hybrid pattern potentially available once fully ramped.
What's in it for you?
Real execution depth: Work directly inside the firm's algo platform, with visibility into strategy settings, order behavior, routing, fills, and auction logic that is rarely available at a large bank. Direct product influence: Take client execution needs straight to research and product teams and see meaningful changes built quickly. Earlier client ownership: Take on meaningful institutional coverage responsibility earlier than you might in a larger organization. Experienced colleagues: Work alongside electronic-trading practitioners in a lean, research-driven environment focused on execution quality. Long-term growth: Build from day-to-day execution coverage toward owning accounts and a revenue number. What will your day look like? Oversee live algo flow: Monitor client algorithmic orders across the U.S. equities session and step in when behavior needs attention. Diagnose execution: Work out why an order behaved the way it did across strategies, venues, order size, and market conditions. Tune strategies: Configure and adjust algo parameters with clients and coordinate client-specific changes with research and product. Run TCA: Build and interpret execution analysis independently and use it to drive execution consulting conversations. Share market structure insight: Help deliver intelligence to clients on liquidity trends, venue behavior, and regulatory change. Handle incidents: Escalate issues to trading technology during the session, manage risk, and keep clients informed. Grow the business: Support onboarding and account growth alongside the equities coverage lead. Who are you? Direct electronic trading experience: You have hands-on experience in electronic equities trading or execution, such as electronic or algo sales trading, execution trading, execution consulting, algo trading, or algo product. This is required. Market structure fluency: You can speak in depth about the U.S. equity market structure, including lit and dark venues, routing tradeoffs, order types, and auctions. Algo knowledge: You understand how execution algorithms work, what their parameters do, and how behavior changes when parameters change. Analytical: You are comfortable with data and can interpret TCA output without guidance. Execution-first mindset: You want a role centered on algo trading, algo product, and execution analysis, with client coverage and business development built on top.
Experience level:
Your background is likely in the 2-to-6-year range of directly relevant electronic trading experience. Licensure: Current SIE, Series 7, 63, and 57 registrations are highly preferred. Client judgment: You communicate clearly with sophisticated institutional traders and stay composed under time pressure. Stamford availability: You are able and willing to work from the Stamford office at least three days per week and spend additional time there during onboarding when practical.
