American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical Surgical unit requiring Charge RN experience and a GA or compact RN license. Details Medical Surgical unit with remote telemetry and potential medical surgical diagnoses38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33 and a 1:6 patient ratio Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics Day shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PMEvery other weekend required unless otherwise specified Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed No call requirements Unit systems include Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBARNavy blue scrubs required
Requirements:
  • Active GA or compact RN license requiredBLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Charge RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, rapid response/code teams, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
  • Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
  • First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information:
  • Perform vital sign checks and blood glucose checks as part of daily dutiesRTO must be finalized at time of submission; no schedule changes allowed after offer or during orientation
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/DayLocal candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers previously cancelled or deemed unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
