The Director, Member Networks & Engagement reports to the Chief Revenue & Operations Officer (CROO).
Key Responsibilities:
Leads and manages the Member Networks & Engagement team, including onboarding, training, coaching, and guidance on programs and projects. Partners with Section Governing Councils, committees, and other volunteer leaders to develop and deliver initiatives, programs, and engagement opportunities. Oversees Section governance, including annual elections, leadership transitions, and General Assemblies. Sets direction for and oversees Section programs, projects, and year-round activities, ensuring they align with Academy priorities and member needs. Leads the Academy’s annual committee appointment process, including applications, selections, onboarding, leadership orientation, liaison training, and disclosure requirements. Works with staff and volunteer leaders to review committee activity and strengthen the effectiveness of Academy and Foundation committees. Collaborates with colleagues and volunteer leaders on member recognition, awards, leadership development, and other opportunities that encourage involvement and strengthen the member experience. Oversees member grant programs, including promotion, applications, review and selection, recipient communications, and funding coordination. Works across Academy departments, including Communications, IT, and Finance, to coordinate member programs, processes, events, and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field (relevant experience or certifications may be substituted for a degree)7+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Prior experience in membership, member/customer experience, or a related field Experience leading a team, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management Ability to build relationships and lead work across functional and organizational units Strategic thinking, project management, problem-solving and organizational skills Association experience strongly preferred Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities Some local travel required; occasional domestic travel. The base pay for this role is $120,000-140,000 per year, commensurate with experience and education/certifications.
